STATEMENT OF SAFETY POLICY
It is the policy of Insulcana Contracting Ltd. to perform work in the safest manner possible, consistent with good construction practices thus providing a safe and healthy environment for all workers on all projects. To fulfill the responsibilities of the policy, an organized and effective safety program must be under taken at each project location.
A good safety program is everyone’s responsibility from top management, site supervision personnel, and site workers. It is essential to have the fullest cooperation of management, supervisory personnel, Insulcana Workers and sub-contractors and their workers.
All subcontractors and their workers are required to cooperate fully with Insulcana Contracting Ltd. personnel in the execution of this safety policy and any other safety requirements.
OBJECTIVE
The objective of the safety program is the “Prevention of All Accidents”.
Other than “Acts of God”, accidents are preventable and are the result of causes related to unsafe and inefficient procedures or methods, unsafe physical conditions, unsafe equipment, UNSAFE PERSONAL ACTS and usually one or more of these factors in combination.
Since accidents usually result from the same deficient factors that affect productivity, costs, worker relations and public relations; the project’s safety record is another guide to the EFFECTIVENESS OF THE SUPERVISION.
SAFETY PROGRAM ELEMENTS
Insulcana’s plan to achieve the goal of an accident free working environment is to subject every directly employed supervisor and worker to the following safety program including but not limited to:
1: Worker Indoctrination to plants Safety Handbook (on minimum of 6 month intervals)
2: A Project Safety Plan
3: Weekly Tool Box Meetings
4: Hazard Analysis
5: Monthly Supervisory Safety Meetings
6: Job Site Inspections
7: Visual Aids
8: On-going Training
All project Managers and Superintendents are responsible for the safe construction of their assigned projects and are accountable for the results achieved by their crews and subcontractors’ crews.
It is in all our interests to commit ourselves to developing a healthy and safe working environment in every activity.
